We are looking for a unique individual to join our small, agile development team—someone who understands the intricacies of the UK legal costs landscape and wants to build the future of the tools they’ve been using.

The Role

This isn’t your typical developer role. You will be bridging the gap between technical execution and legal expertise. Working in a tight-knit team, you will have a direct impact on the evolution of CostsMaster, translating complex CPR rules and user needs into functional, high-performance code.

What you’ll be doing:

• Developing and maintaining features within the CostsMaster suite.
• Applying your deep knowledge of UK legal costs (Electronic Bills, N260s, etc.) to ensure our software remains at the cutting edge.
• Collaborating closely with a small team where your voice is heard and your contributions are visible.
• Problem-solving technical challenges that directly improve the daily lives of costs draftsmen and solicitors.

About You

You are likely currently working as a Costs Lawyer, Costs Consultant, or Draftsman or maybe a trainee solicitor or paralegal. You have a logical mind, a meticulous eye for detail and a side-passion for programming.

The Essentials:

• Costs Expertise: You know your way around a Bill of Costs and understand the current UK legal costs environment inside and out.
• Technical Aptitude: You have experience with programming. Whether it’s a dedicated hobby, a computer science degree, or a previous role, you understand the fundamentals of logic and code.
• The Right Mindset: You enjoy the “deep work” of coding and the collaborative nature of a small team.

The “Nice-to-Haves”:

• Delphi Experience: Our core environment is Delphi. If you know it, great! If you don’t, but you have experience in C#, C++, Java, or similar, and you’re a fast learner, we want to talk to you.
